~~ Friday’s Hunt v.2.14 -- "N" is for ...

Friday's Hunt for the week of September 30th:  (1) Starts with "N"; (2) Week's Favorite; and (3) I Made This.

1. Starts with "N": New and Nursery

"New Kids in Sunday school Nursery"

I really don't know how many, but there were a lot.  I might expand things and count best I can.  Anyway there's a lot of strollers pictured on the right, empty now while the kids are in the Church Nursery.

Newest washing machine problem, these washers are exploding!  Maybe you heard about them on the radio.  If you have one I'd check it out.  Ours was new back when but surely it has passed the test of time now.

The this summer we went to another nursery, The Antique Rose Emporium located southeast outside a bit from Brenham, Texas.  We don't get there very often but do stop in when we are going through and have time.

We once, back in the 1970's, bought an antique rose.  It grew nice and pretty on the south side of our garage.  I have here one picture of the 12 (1st is the top one) that was from our back yard and not the Antique Rose Emporium.  Answer below.

If you'd like to read more or possibly plan a visit, click here. Or come visit us and we all will go there.

Answer to my quiz, "which of the 12 pictures does not belong to the Antique Rose Emporium?":  Highlight the blank area below and you'll see the answer.
It is the one immediately above on the left; this is a picture of a bottle brush bush in our back yard.  To the left are three 'knock-off' rose bushes and to the right is an Oleander bus.  Various ground cover items are below, on the right are more short growing rose bushes.  All the roses are red and they bloom all year long.

2. Week's Favorite:  Mrs. Jim and I had appointments with our cardiologist this week.  My big concern was my AAA Sent Graft as I had a leak in it repaired the first of the year.  A sonogram showed nothing was leaking now!!  Then the usual X-ray, EKG, and Blood Tests.  I expect to pass all that but haven't gotten test results back yet.

Mrs. Jim's primary concern was that no complications had come since, or before, her Branch Bunch Block was discovered last year when she had her pre-surgery checkup for bunion surgery. That was Okay but the doctor did want here to closely monitor her blood pressure.  Her family history for heart problems is scary.

On the way home we stopped at the Ragin Cajun restaurant.  Mrs. Jim had the
Beans and Rice plate and I had a Shrimp Po'boy with .  We shared half and half.  Not pictures of the food, sorry.  Here is a Google link of some of the Cajun eating places in and near Houston and also recipes, etc.

3. I Made This:  I had hoped to show you one of my electronic items I made, a simple Morse Code Practice Oscillator.  But I couldn't find it since the move. Later.  I am a Ham Radio Operator.

So here are a few food pictures I took lately of food items I made.

Sure, I "made" this Ramon Noodle Soup with Shrimp but all I had to do was to add boiling water.
More important was the Clam Roll I "made" to have with the soup, pictured just below the soup 'bowl'.  I baked the frozen clams using 1/4 of this package from Kroger.  When I lived in New Hampshire that fried clam roll was my favorite food, it is still high on my list.

I also "made" this Bratwurst Sandwich.  The Wursts are frozen before I start.  I cut the center out of the rolls so as to not eat too much bread.  I heat the Wursts and the bread, then lay slices of cheese in the trench.  Then I heat and put mustard.  Sometimes I have sauerkraut on them but my sauerkraut had been in the refrigerator too long and I threw that away.

Eden Hills, (click) is running this meme, Friday's Hunt.  Her rules are: "Welcome to linkup for Friday’s Hunt. It’s very simple. Anyone can participate. The link opens at 7pm Friday Central time and will close Sunday at 7pm."  You have plenty of time to enter as you can get the letter and the other two requested topics as early as Monday.  That is in her sidebar.

Glad to hear that both of you are fit and well. That certainly is a lot of strollers and I love the shots in the Nursery. Very NICE. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Hey, Jim great to see that you are a gourmet cook, I think that I'd rather go to the Ragin Cajun.

That Rose Emporium is just lovely - what a wonderful place to visit. Your backyard looks lovely too! Glad your doc visits went well. I still remember that egg salad you made with plums in it. I am not a big mustard fan, so I think that would still be my choice on your menu.

Great eatin' using convenient foods and simply prepared! Wish there was a Ragin' Cajun in Southern New England!

I got stuck on the Brats. I love those things and with the sauerkraut please. Yummy.

I'm glad both of your doctors appointments went well.

Have a fabulous weekend. ☺

The strollers in the hall are hysterical. I'm glad you and Mrs. Jim are getting good heart results. I want a hot dog.

You are an expert in ready made food, lol ! So far I have never heard of a washing machine exploding ! Will be more careful next time, you never know !

Glad things went well with the checkups. I'm pretty sure my washer is too old to be one of those with problems. I love the way you have creative riddles for us. Some days, just making Ramon noodles is a real task. Thanks so much for joining me for Friday's Hunt. Have a great week ahead!
