The Letter "J" ~~ Rev 04 - Weekend Roundup and Reflections

The 36th issue of Weekend Roundup for this year... (THE TENTH LETTER FOR THIS SERIES)
- the Letter "J" Prompts are:
(A) Starts with the Letter "J";  (B) A Favorite;
(C) "J" for "Junk". (Tom's choice);  and (D) Reflections.

(A) Starts with the Letter "J":  Jackfruit starts with "J", per a Quara . Com search, Photo from https://www.quora.com/What-are-some-fruits-that-begin-with-the-letter-J.  Read more of the Jackfruit in Wikipedia, here.  I think I do not need to try Jackfruit , for sure not a Jackfruit Pie.

(B) A Favorite:   Jars and Jars of Jelly and Jam.  I'm not sure where I took this, very likely at my cousins home in Arkansas.  I did also see a few Jars of fruit or/and vegetables. My favorite Jam is Fig Preserves, home madeLemon Curd isn't Jam, is it?   I like that just about as well.

(C) "J" for "Junk". (Tom's choice):  This is out youngest granddaughter,  KP.  She has grown a lot, this picture WAS taken TWO YEARS AGO at my cousin's home in Arkansas.   We were visiting cousins  and soon we be on our way to Nebraska to visit even more cousins.

I am sure that my cousin would not want to call her husband's gas pump Junk. And it isn't but I think there may have been Collector's Junk. Under that porch is an ideal place to store Outdoor Junk.

(D) Reflections:   This was taken looking in the window at the Plank Restaurant in Omaha, Nebraska.   It was a fine place to eat casually.  You can get a feel for the lay of the land across the street.   We spent an afternoon at this nice tourist friendly area of the old down town.

(E) A Lagniappe for you (Just for those who like Sunsets):  This is a unique Sunset we found while driving through Missouri on our way to Nebraska.

I have more Midwest photos to show some other times.

My Two

Questions for this week (you can answer just one if you wish):

1. My Reflection pictures - When you look into the windows at places new to you, what do like to see?  I like to see things that I would or would not go into the store to have a look-see.

2. Do you have some Collector Junk that you would like to tell about? I have junk of all kinds.  Mrs. Jim likes to talk about it with me, like "why don't you get rid of this as you never seem to use it."

Bonus Questions:
1. What is your favorite "J" word?

2. Do you or your other ever make homemade Jam?  What kind do you like to make the best?  No, I don't make Jam myself but once in a while Mrs. does make it.  We have a friend who used to give us Figs for the picking up.

Jell-O.
No I have never made jam.
I love the photo of the sky - I have never been out west in that area.
Sandie - have a good weekend.

1. My Reflection pictures - When you look into the windows at places new to you, what do like to see? Pretty much the same as you. I may go in if something catches my interest.

2. Do you have some Collector Junk that you would like to tell about? I have junk of all kinds. I'm happy to say we don't collect anything but books, so no junk here.

Bonus Questions:

1. What is your favorite "J" word? Justice. We need more justice.

2. Do you or your other ever make homemade Jam? What kind do you like to make the best? I rarely eat jam and I've never made any.

Have a fabulous day and weekend, Jim.

...'J'im, 'J'ack fruit is a new one for me! I make 'J'am, but never fig. That gas pump is gorgeous, it's not 'J'unk, but some may think so. Great sunset! Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your weekend.

Yes I used to make all kinds of Jam but now none nor do I eat jam now as I know it is so full of sugar. I have collected junk in the past but several years ago I read a little book and decluttering and that is what I did and am still doing as it is an on going process and believe it or not I have NOT missed one single thing and my home looks better and my mind also. People do not realise just how your mind is affected by too much junk in your home. Great sunset Jim and have a wonderful week ahead.

Since we have an orchard.....I learnt how to make jam....I love it...my favourite jam that I make is Cherry Almond Jam, Apple Pie Jam, Pear and Vanilla Jam and Apricot Jam and our neighbour gives us Blackcurrents to make jam with...I have started growing my own but not nearly enough fruit on them yet.

Jackfruits seem a new trend, I still haven't tasted, the products are expensive - don't know - - -
When I have to much of berries or other fruits, I make jam, but I dont like to stand for hours in the kitchen. Mostly a give the fruits away, may other housewifes make jam!
I'm always curious to see through windows, what is in the room and how life other peoples... the best windows are without curtains!
I have a great collection of paper and fabric jung, use that for collages... and other junk, of course, comes faster, than I can sort it out, sigh!
Enjoy your weekend

I have never tasted jackfruit. All those jars remind me of my mom. She used to make the best jelly. Of course, we got a lot of chiggers picking blackberries for jam, which is my favorite. Your granddaughter is adorable!
No, I don't make jam myself, but I like all kinds. Blackberry is my favorite, but elderberry is a close second. Both require chiggers to pick. My favorite J word is probably jack-o-lantern. And we are getting close to pumpkin season. :)

I've not heard of Jackfruit, but agree it doesn't look like a proper pie filing! The many jars mean a Winter's worth of good-for-you eating - years ago we visited the Amish farm museum in Lancaster PA, and the many shelves in the farmhouse were filled with Jars of Amish chow chow. The gasoline pump is not junk, but sadly, for decades they weren't considered with saving - it's nice this still exists for history!

I like the reflection and what a beautiful sunset!
