~~ Friday’s Hunt v.2.26 -- "Z" is for ...

Friday's Hunt for the week of December 23rd:  (A) Starts with "Z"; (B) Week's Favorite; and   (C) Holiday.

Notes:
Pictures are from our South American cruise (L.A. California to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 31 days)(click on any picture to enlarge--click it again to make it super sized):

These pictures were taken December 20th at the smaller town of Coquimbo, Chile.  We got off the ship and walked around the seaport, down the main street up a couple of blocks, then back in time for lunch.  It was about an hour's leisurely walk.

This is what Wikipedia has to say about Coquimbo:
"Coquimbo is a port city, commune and capital of the Elqui Province, located on the Pan-American Highway, in the Coquimbo Region of Chile. Coquimbo is situated in a valley 10 km (6 mi) south of La Serena, with which it forms Greater La Serena with more than 400,000 inhabitants." (from Wikipedia, link)

 (B) Week's Favorite:  We love ice cream and generally have it once a day, most often just before bedtime.

When we are away, the vendors generally have an ample supply of our favorite for that, a Magnum Bar.  This fellow did.

(A)  "Z" is for  ___'s":  "Z" is for "Z's".  Lucky me, during my latest 'walk' I found these two dogs, catching their "Z's"

(C) Holiday:  One of my favorite Holidays is Thanksgiving, mainly for the Annual Houston Thanksgiving Parade.  It generally lasts an hour plus, starting with high school and college bands, horses, cars, fire trucks, and lots of clowns.

There is always a name person for the official parade marshal and the last float with have either the marshal or Santa Claus.  And it is all the more fun when we can take our Kids and/or Grandkids.  I don't believe we've ever gone without doing this.

But, ... Here are a few pictures from our latest 'Holiday'.

I may not be able to post here every week and doubt I will be returning comments for some time. After being locked in someone's trunk and being hindered in some other ways, I may be released by now, perhaps FREE!!!  I would, however, love for you to read my blogs and leave your nice comments.

I've not been to a parade in years. We don't have television anymore so we don't see the Macy's Thanksgiving parade either. Those were most delightful.

That last paragraph of yours has been scratching my head. Locked in a car trunk? I don't quite understand.

Papa Bear also thinks it would be good to end each day with a dish of ice cream! I love parades, though not a big fan of the way Macy's now has singing pop stars on all their floats. Wishing you and Mrs. Jim and beautiful Christmas and a New Year filled with blessings!

Jim, you are one fancy guy with Magnum Bars. Let a sleeping dog lie! and your holiday was to where/ Merry Christmas, Jim and Mrs Jim!

Cool Tiki mask street art, Jim. I feel like those dogs right about now but still have some shopping and a whole lot of baking to do. Merry Christmas to you and Mrs. Jim.

Love the cat mural. I'm not much of a parade girl - except for the Mummer's Parade in Philadelphia which is hard to describe if one doesn't know what it is. I am all about catching some ZZZZZs when I can.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Hope you and Mrs. Jim had a lovely Christmas! I could use a few Zs myself after all the busy-ness of the last few days. I also love Magnum bars although I don't have one very often. I can't remember the last time I saw a parade - many, many years ago. We don't have as many parades in Canada as you do in the US.

The dogs really do look like they are enjoying their sleep. Love the mural from your holiday series. Thank you for joining in Friday's Hunt. Hope you have a great new year!
