I'm so glad spring is here in the South!

Yes, I know, it might be 22 degrees below zero where you live. I've often said you could do like President Reagan once said, let the people vote with their feet.

Adi and I went for a walk this morning. Mrs. Jim is playing golf with her buds.

We met this lady walking her young one in the perambulator (link to find out what one is). That's always a sure sign of spring!

There were bunches of robins too but they wouldn't stay still long enough for us to get their pictures. I'm sure they didn't know how friendly Adi is or they would have stayed for us.

Remember Adi saw her shadow on groundhog day. We just weren't where the groundhogs are or we'd have seen his shadow for ourselves.

Texans plants trees on Arbor Day. In Houston Arbor Day is January 27. Karen did that in yuppie style (link).

So did our Houston Chronicle newspaper columnist, Leon Hale (link):

"Here in Washington County, we've haven't had more than two or three mornings this winter that were cold enough to make you want to kill a hog.

If I had a hog to kill here at Winedale, I wouldn't wait past the middle of February to do it. Because I have lost all my confidence that the weather will operate on a seasonal schedule the way it once did.

Remember how we used to have spring in the spring, summer in the summer, fall in the fall and winter in the winter? Now we have 90-degree days in December. Who knows what February might bring?"

Our pear trees are budding too. I'll get you a picture when they bloom. Once in a rare while they bloom too early, like last year. Well, these little buggers will just bloom again in that case.

It seems just like the start of winter a couple of months ago when all their leaves turned red (link to my write-up on that).

Remember those red berries on the holly tree in front of the pear tree in the picture before this one? What's left of them are on the ground now, waiting for the birds to eat them, as soon as Adi leaves.

Adi thinks we can take the snow tires off Grandma's Mustang II now.

Comments:
It was truly a glorious day today. We sat outside in the sun and played in the park and had pink lemonade.

I love Adi and make sure you tell her.

Take care xx

My goodness! We are freezing to death and Mrs. Jim is playing golf. That just doesn't seem right. : )

Hi Jim and Mrs Jim.
Hope you and Adi and Mrs Jim all enjoyed your activities today.

Too cold here for walking....well you can walk but you'd want to walk real fast to stay warm!! There Mrs. Jim is playing golf. Mercy!! And you have blooming weeds! I believe spring has nearly sprung there Jim!!

Hi Jim

I am fine and thanks for being so concerned. I am just testing out my writing and didn't intend to alarm anyone. I wondered what you thought of it.

Take care xx

Is it officially spring? Did the weather forecasters say so?

NO FAIR!!!!!!!

(bah humbug)

Dear Jim...These are lovely spring pictures.

What say? Do you think the robins saw the video of Adi beating up that poor stuffed animal?
I just don't thing those birds wanted to take a chance to say howdy-how to that Adi!!
Can't really blame them!!...from Terry
