Need gas? -- Ruby (Red) Tuesday -- Try at this corner

[large picture] [extra large]

This nice little corner sits at the left front yard of our good friends, John and Marilyn. They have four older cars from 1927 through 1953, all manufactured by Ford. John is past president of our Montgomery Early Ford V8 Club. That reminds me, my national dues are due now.

It appears John has run out of gas with his 1927 Model T Ford and has needed a tow to the station using his Aggie Maroon (red) 2008 Ford F150. Luckily for me his gas pump at the corner station has a red Texaco globe along with the rusty red pump.

I have been negligent in not showing my calendar for November. This month slipped up me real quick.

I think that was because of all my Birthday running away holiday stuff. My Birthday was October 30 and we stayed gone for three days. Sunday was church and football so I didn't do blogging stuff then either. Oh, I might have stuck in a couple of posts but I didn't do much reading or leaving comments.

Birthdays are a good excuse for negligence, running away and running out of gas. That's my opinion.

I love that little corner vignette with the old pump. I actually do remember one of the old tall pumps being in my hometown. It wasn't at a station my Dad used though so we never stopped there. I do remember them also getting new square pumps and the station stayed open till I was out of high school.
Happy Belated Birthday Jim!
My hubby had a birthday this past Saturday. Come on over to my post and have cake. :)

An old Texaco star gas pump is the proper accessory for the old gearheads around Lone Star, or anywhere, really...What is that modern F-250 doing in this scene??

Those pictures are so quaint.

They just don't make cars or gas pumps like those anymore. How fun.

I'm glad you had a great birthday bash.

Have a terrific day. Big hug.

Happy belated birthday ;-)
Love the RUBY touches in these wonderful photos ... bringing back memories of the past for me!
Hugs and blessings,

Can you really get gas there or this all in fun?

Happy birthday! We've got two family birthdays next week, in one day. Wonder what I should do.

They are interesting shots...Happy Ruby Tuesday.

This post had a nice, peaceful, "days gone by" feel to it.

I love these pictures! Old cars are just wonderful!

Very nice photo set. I love the old gas pump. Happy RT.

Beautiful scenery from your house, huh? B

wow, cute photos of vintage car and gas pump..

i love all your photos. the first one reminds me of my friend's house.

Belated Happy Birthday.

Love the cars and the gas pump.
With the prices of today I wish we had our own little Texan oil well in the garden.
Our government has pronounced they want to raise the price on gas to 5 dollars pr. liter. To diminish pollution, they say. There are 3.785411 liters per gallon (US)= apr. 20 dollars pr. gallon.
The UN has just declared Norway the best country to live in. They do obviously not care about gas prices.

belated happy birthday sir Jim!

Please come and find out what our little fashionista has to say.

Great pictures Jim!

Hi Jim and belated happy birthday. I ran across an old gasoline pump this weekend but it was yellow so won't be appearing on Ruby Tuesday anytime soon. But it's a gem and so is the one you show us here.

Oh. sorry sir....looks like I made a wrong turn and ended up decades back!!

[in all seriousness tho, Jim, love the photo shares!!!]

My R T is posted. In honor of Veterans [kinda sorta]...it's museum quality to be sure.

oh these pictures are so nice mr. jim.
i just love the old building!
did they call it gas in the olden days when you were a kid or did they call it petrol?
dad golden once told me that old gas stations like this used to sell you your car license. there were no tests to be taken..just give the owner some money and he gave you a pin to stick on your jacket and you were able to drive!
ha!!
mr. jim...i was sound asleep and then i was awakened by a whole lot of singing going on at felisol's blog.
it was some singing telegram guy singing happy birthday to her brother in law...sounded real cool!

Hi Jim,
You said you liked my hat. I don't have a hat on in the photos. I'm confuzzled.

I like your old cars too, like Ralph does.
"You can trust your car to the man who wears the star...the big, bright Texaco star!" ha,ha, I'm dating myself.

Happy Belated Birthday to you! Sounds like you had a 3-day celebration.

Happy Ruby Tuesday ~

Hi again Jim,
I don't see the hat, but maybe it is because I know I wasn't wearing one.

Enjoy the rest of Ruby Day

P.S. Jim, I think you are referring to my hand blocking the sun from my eyes,

I love old cars.I like the old gas pump as well.

A bet the price of gas would be cheaper than new pumps. Happy Birthday a little late. HRT

At the old gas pump
you’ll probably find some fumes
but not much fuel.

Good pics Jim. I wish I owned an old T.
The write up was good about the Baylor v Ne game. Glad you guys went.. We should have gone, it looks like there were plenty of tickets available.
Did you watch the O.U. game? Pretty good D for sure.
my word verification is ditchip.
I've been called that I think.

My Grandpa used to own a gas station with a pump like that.
