Grandchildren time — MidWeek Blues — Jenna Graduation and KP has breakfast with Santa

.
This is Jenna, my granddaughter.

Jenna graduated summa cum laude (
with highest honors) from the University of Houston last Friday, the 17th of December, 2011.

She now has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with emphasis in supply chain management.

And she has a job! Pretty much in her field. Like I was told it isn't just what you learned in college is why they want you to work for them. It is also that they know you can set your eyes on a rigorous four-year goal and accomplish it.
And more 'breaking news,' Jenna and Sean are engaged. Sean proposed, with a nice pretty diamond ring, on Sunday. Sean is a recent U/H graduate; he also has a job.

Of course Mrs. Jim and I were there for the graduation. Jenna humors us with lots of picture posing. When Jenna was sixteen she went to Europe on a four-week driving trip ending in a mission stint in Spain. She knows us pretty well; we haven 't changed much since then.
On the right we have three generations: Mrs. Jim, Granddaughter KP, and Mom Karen. This was before our meal. I see water but no Diet Coke for Karen.

We attended breakfast with Santa this Sunday after church. Our time was 1:00 PM. They gave us the table right next to Santa and beside him was the Christmas tree.

KP liked the tree fine but she didn't ever make up to Santa. She did wave at him on the way out to go home. But no way would she sit on his lap.
I put this picture in because it is about the best picture I took of KP all day. I don't know what she had in mind but it looks like she was responding to one of us.

And to the MidWeek Blues affectionados you will please note that every picture does have a little blue. Some a very little.

We are really enjoying having these kids home for the holidays. It has been August since I saw them although Mrs. Jim did go for a little London jaunt to visit with them. She was so afraid that KP would not remember her if they all waited until Christmas to see each other.

I think she remembered me a little although it took a bit of time for her to feel comfortable with me. Maybe if she'd have been around Santa for a little longer she would have liked him too.

If you want to post a MidWeek Blues picture, go get directions from Rebecca by clicking on the logo picture on the right. She has a Mr. Linky and good directions . Just do what I did.

Or do less. All she requires is a BLUE PICTURE or BLUE THOUGHT, you don't have to write.

Congrats to Jenna. Great. It must be in the genes.
Great pics of everyone.
Merry Christmas to you both and to your family.

What a lovely, smart and talented family you have, Jim! I enjoyed reading about them. I was like KP when I was a little girl. I didn't warm up to Santa Claus-in-the-department-store till I was almost 8 years old. I cried about having to sit in Santa's lap the first several Christmases!
