A little culture — St. Jean Baptiste (Rodin) — MidWeek Blues
Did you know that all the Houston ISD High School soccer games today were cancelled? We did not get any snow (could be on Friday) but it sure got cold.
I should have known there would be some work of Rodin in the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. I happily visited with Tim and Mrs. Jim mainly to see the large collection of impressionist masterpieces by popular painters such as Monet, Cézanne, and Renoir. (Link)
This is one of the six casts of Rodin's St. Jean Baptiste in the world. I have seen three now, this in the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, another at the Rodin Museum in Paris, and the third at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
I'll have to scan my prints from the Rodin Museum some time. His work is scattered all over there, inside the building and outside in the pretty garden.

If you like art then go to Europe. We found this Cézanne original in the Lautrec Museum in Albi, France. It is by Paul Cézanne (1839 to 1906) and yes, he was pretty quirky. (Cézanne Wikipedia link)

Or do less. All she requires is a BLUE PICTURE or BLUE THOUGHT, you don't have to write.

The world is looking a lot like a Cézanne picture to me these days. It just dawned on me that could have something to do with my constant headaches, too. Tomorrow I call the eye doc for an appointment.
i missed Musee d'Orsay and Rodin Museum when i visited Paris. spent a day at the Louvre and i had an overload.:p i would have loved to see his works. great shot of Mrs. Jim and Tim.

You can turn any piece of art work into an impressionist era painting simply by forgetting to bring your glasses along. I've done it.
I haven't won your contest yet?
Be glad the storm missed you guys. It's a doozy and it mostly missed us too. We only got about 6 inches of snow but the wind is feocious.

Beautiful Cezanne!
I fixed the problem you were having with the blog and your are linked. I am so sorry about the linky acting up. If you have trouble, leave your link in a comment and I will work with it.
Unfortunately, the Linky Tools I switched from will be charging a fee to use them and since I am not an money earning blog - this is just for fun - I really can't justify adding an expense.
Please bear with me until I find something that works...hopefully I will!
PS When is the big reveal for the dog cookies?

In Belgium (Antwerp) are some sculptures of Rodin too. He and Henri Moore are 2 of my favorite sculptors. But then, I originally come from Europe and in EVERY country, especially in W-Eur. are art museums, not only in France:)
