Got this e-mail — My Alphabe-Thursday (2nd), the letter "S" / Thursday Two Questions —

.
"Got this e-mail:"

Today my "S" is for Smile and for Spam.  When I get these crazy Spam e-mailings I generally Smile.  They may be funny jokes, they may be malicious to my computer, or they may be stupid things that no one should believe (big whoppers about elected officials or candidates are prime, so also are those that tell you about how the government or big business is ripping you off, etc).

First, smile when you see this YouTube showing what happened to Mark's computer when he clicked on something he should not have:

MARK LEUNG'S CRAZY COMPUTER BUG

Oh yes, you can still get my Adi (she died September 17, 2012) with the Christmas tree on my YouTube at

Now, to share the first Spam e-mail that I got (smile, please):

Date: Tue Mar 26 20:26:14 CDT 2013
From: "[him]" Add To Address Book
Subject: DONATIONS:
To: "[us]"

"A driver was stuck in a traffic jam on the highway outside Washington, DC.
Nothing was moving. Suddenly, a man knocks on the window.

The driver rolls down the window and asks, "What's going on?"

"Terrorists have kidnapped the entire US Congress, and they're asking
for a $100 million dollar ransom. Otherwise, they are going to douse them all in gasoline and set them on fire.
We are going from car to car, collecting donations."

"How much is everyone giving, on an average?" the driver asks.

The man replies, "Roughly a gallon."

And then another that no one is his right mind should fall for (I really did get both of these); a second Spam e-mail that I got (smile, please):

Date: Wed Mar 27 04:13:56 CDT 2013
From: "[her]"   Add To Address Book
Subject: Send a copy?

To: [me]

"
My man should be able to make me smile... I hope that you would be happy to get acquainted with appealing, young girl with a quiet and patient character. I am very gentle, careful and romantic. I am very communicative, kind, and calm. I really want to like and to be loved. Can you help me with this step to you?

My dream is to create a happy and friendly family, to be the best mother for my children and the most caring wife for my beloved man.
I'm not waiting for a perfect man, I understand that we all have lacks. So if you are responsible and caring man, I would like to know you better http://xxxxxxxx.com

 like to meet with you."

Now for my Thursday Two Questions.

My post last week was about "R" word things, Red colored things that I had found on the golf course.

My Two Questions for this week (you can answer just one if you wish):.

1. What is your reaction to e-mailings that came to you as Spam?
I like some of them so much that I put them on my other blog, me, old blogs never read, and . . . that I don't publicise but is mostly for me.  A few will read it now and then.

2. What do you think about e-mailing the sender back telling the truth or your viewpoint?  Would your answer be different if it was a friend doing the sending?
Before I decided it was not nice I would send him back a Spoof Report from one of the blog sites that answer for the truthfulness of chain-e-mails.

Bonus Question:

1. What is your favorite "S" word?
.

I'll donate a gallon of gasoline.

1. If it's in my spam folder then more than likely that's where it stays. I do get lots of jokes from people I know though and many I use.

2. Many things are sent that are not true. Most folks don't check them out. If I know you well I'll link you to the truth. If I don't I hit the delete button.

3. My favorite 'S' word is sanity. We sure could use a lot more of it.

Have a terrific day. ☺

1. First, love the gasoline joke. My span folder mainly contains ads from business and the same one everyday so I just delete them.

2. I do read through the spam list and who they are from. If I recognize the sender, I will read it otherwise I delete them.

3. Favorite "s" word is Sanssouci :)It's a song made popular by Rufus Wainright and is sung by my friend Sony Holland.

It's fun when you get great emails! Thanks for sharing. Sanity and sharing :)

Love the gas joke. It is funny - I never get span (knock on wood!).

I normally delete spam which i receive.
Cool Gas joke :)

Thanks for visiting and commenting .

Don't get me started, Jim, about Spam - definitely doesn't make me smile!

Have a good weekend,

Nora & Lola

PS love the Adi YouTube video!

Thanks for making me smile, Jim.

Okay, first off, holy cow patties, you scarred me to death with that video! Thankfully, I have a strong heart, as you may have guess since I'm now shooting you a comment. lol

I get tons and tons and tons of spam from non-friends (businesses may or may not be for phishing) but occasionally spam will come in from them only because their contacts have been highjacked. I just hit "delete" and am done with.

I do get the emails announcing some big terrible bad, which may or may not be true. If it's not accurate or a hoax, then I just tell my sender what I learned in hopes to better educate them. Sometimes, I just don't have time for it and will hit "delete" and forget about it. Or, I'll get a notice a friend has sent me an e-greeting card. I never, ever click on those. I just send a general email to my friend that says thank you for thinking of me. I do not even send e-greeting cards because this is a good way for a hacker to gain access to your computer. Remember, I'm paranoid. :)

Sometimes I get funny or inspiring emails. If I like them then I try to share them on my blog or others in my address book. These are those only types of spam that will put a smile on my face.

Thanks for visiting today. This has been a fun 'S' post!

spam is the bane of my existence! i hate it and never respond to it.

Not a fan of spam...It gets deleted as soon as I notice it...from my blogs, or my e-mails...have not been getting many jokes/hoax/you-might-like-this forwards from friends lately, I think they've learned I never forward that stuff. Good S post! My S: http://lmkazmierczak.blogspot.com/2013/03/satans-standing-room.html

My favorite S word would be Savior. Your spam artist gets around because I have gotten that with a slightly different twist, as I am female. lol I am scared (another s word) to open spam as it once fried my mother board, but sometimes I get these crazy messages at a few sites I write at from other "writers" there. I wrote my contribution for ABC Wednesday but after trying to upload over a dozen times went to bed as it deleted my post on my last effort - oh well.

Thanks for your sweet compliments on my lovely granddaughter. Blessings!

I tohught you were going to enlighten us on SPam the canned meat! LOL! I detest spam in my mail box! Argh..... ALways a great writer of posts this is one I am smiling at and I would donate two gallons! Ha Ha!

I know I should be nicer because I love my Savior and He is watching over me today. That would be my favorite S word!

Happy Easter to you and yours.

I would just delete the spam mails. My favourite "S" word is Saviour, Dr Jim :)

Although these Spam mailings definitely made me Smile, usually I just hit delete...

I am Stretched fairly thin as it is So unfortunately I am unable to Send a response Sharing my thoughts about the Spam...

Spectacular post for the letter S...

A+
