Friday’s Hunt v1.5 -- "E" is for ...

1. Week's Favorite:

We were very fortunate to be able to walk with our youngest granddaughter, KP, to school every day this week except for today, Friday.

I thought she was smiling when I snapped it but if she were, it was a pretty weak smile.  She was in a hurry to play her game with her friend who was about to come out of the garage ahead.

Her game is to hide behind me like no one can see her.  Her friend also plays the game and will ask, "Where is KP?"  Then KP jumps out from behind me and shouts, "Boo!"
2.  Starts with "E":

"E" is for Eating.  Yes, eating again with Jim.  No Jim Bunch this time, just me.
My menu was
 - A large cup of Maruchan Instant Lunch, Shrimp and Noodle Soup, modified (link)(29¢ at Kroger)
 - One and a half ounces of Sharp Cheddar Cheese
 - A few Saltine Crackers (about eight)
 - Seven Large Shrimp (I added another five to my soup)

The soup has gone up from 28¢ at our Kroger but it is still a bargain.  I try to get it on sale. A lot of college kids eat it.  The only cooking involved is heating up some water.  I think a half cup or so of Frozen Peas would be a good addition besides my Shrimp.  Next time.

Mrs. Jim isn't real fond of it because sodium is 47% of the daily requirement.  I'm not worried because my cardiologist said I could eat all I wanted, generally on my semi-annual blood checkup Sodium is always low or close to it.

I'm eating the same meal today without the cheese and crackers.  I was going to eat a left over 50¢ McDouble Cheeseburger from McDonald's also but what I had is enough.  It cost only 50¢ because with my FF's last night adding the McDouble was only 50¢ more because of the "2 Items for $2" promotion.

3. Is for Sky:

I took this petty picture for the birds in the tree.  In my picture I noticed there wasn't a cloud one in our beautiful Texas Sky.  We were walking back on the trail between our neighborhood and the next when I saw the birds in this tree.

Note the little Chickadee on the right, not sitting with the Black Birds.  When I got close enough to get a good picture, all of the birds except this little one flew off.  After they were gone, the Chickadee jumped up, branch by branch, until he was on top.

I think he was laughing at the scaredy cat Black Birds.  That reminds me of a certain politician being afraid of one female (he doesn't like most ladies but he is married for the third time) so he boycotted the debate last night.  It was boring without him and Mrs. Jim and I both went to sleep right after the ridiculous immigration Q&A session.

Teresa of Eden Hills is running this meme, Friday's Hunt. She has three alternatives for us to post about but this one, Alphabet series, will be the one I will try to follow and post about.  - Her rules are: "Welcome to linkup for Friday’s Hunt. It’s very simple. Anyone can participate. The link opens at 7pm Central time and will close Sunday at 7pm, so you have plenty of time to enter."

 - The Mr. Linky address
here has others who are participating if you would to read what these folk are doing for the Friday post  - For the week of January 22 our assignment was to post on any or all of these ideas:  (1) Week's Favorite; (2) Starts with "E"; and (3) Sky; then (4) the last one, Poem for the week, is lagniappe.

Comments:
Hello, I have not had that soup in a long time. I do love shrimp and cheddar cheese. My hubby has the problem with high sodium, he tries to watch everything he eats. LOve the birds and the pretty blue sky. Have a happy weekend!

PS, your KP is sweet!

Chickadee are timid birds and will land on your hand if you have some seed that they like in it.
Sounds like KP and her friend have fun walking to school.
PS - removed the other comment as I made a mistake and there was no way to edit it.

Your granddaughter is adorable! She does look like she'd rather be playing games with her friend though. That is quite the lunch! Lucky that your sodium levels are good. The sky is beautiful. Now you have me thinking of our dear friend G-Man. I do miss him and our Thursday evening fun! Thanks so much for joining Friday's Hunt.

I love the chicken soup, but not the shrimp one. Why? I don't know and I love shrimp.

I've not watched any of the debates. There's no one to vote for on either side of the aisle.

Have a fabulous day. ☺

Jim, I love the sky, tree, bird shot. Sylvia D.

Your granddaughter is beautiful! Your eats are good (just wish there was less sodium in it) and the shrimp is a fine addition. Nice sky with the birds perched in the tree. I had the debate on as background noise...

Your granddaughter has a very sweet smile and I like thinking the little bird was laughing at the others for flying away. :)

KP is adorable Jim and I've seen the same weak attempt at a smile on one of our granddaughters. :-) I've never heard of a flash poem before, it's cute.

Enjoy those walks to school because before you know it she'll be "that age" where she won't want anyone walking with her! They grow up so fast. My problem is that I don't like salt. So many things taste too salty to me...especially restaurant food. My family is used to hearing me complain. I don't know why they put so much salt in food. You can always add it, but you can't take it out.

I love ramen soups. And cheese. Mmmmm, cheese. Your little granddaughter is a cutie

KP is very cute and I love the game she plays with her friend. :)
