Letter "A" -- Friday's Weekend Roundup 08 / Reflections and-or Street Captures

HAPPY NEW YEAR
This Second weekend's Prompts are: Starts with "A"; A Favorite; "A"lone; and A Lagniappe.

Starts with "A":  Angel starts with an "A".

Mrs. Jim had this angel at the top before we were married, almost 48 years ago.  She has been a tradition guest here with us for all these years.

Does anyone remember the now ancient "Moon Mullins" comic strip?

A Favorite:  Mrs. Jim and I found this bit of original Art in the Lautrec Museum in Albi, France. It is by Paul Cézanne (1839 to 1906) and yes, he was pretty quirky, both artists were. (Cézanne Wikipedia link)

In just a lot of his pictures you can see Mont Sainte-Victoire as in this one. It is a mountain in Provence, France. Cézanne can see the whole view of the mountain from his house near
Aix-en-Provence. He drew a series of oil paintings about or using his favorite mountain of his.

"A"lone:   KP's new cat does not like being left Alone.  We think he might be missing his former owner.

Named Dutch, he is an adopted four-year-old male Russian Blue.   He was a one-owner never taken out in the rain pretty boy belonging to a little old lady, an LOL.

Hi Jim,
The angel on your tree is lovely. I've always put a star on top of mine. I have my Mom and Dad's Christmas tree star, but don't use it much, anymore. It's metal with one bulb inside. It doesn't always light up and I think until I have it looked at, I don't want an electrical fire! It just doesn't look too safe, it's old. They probably bought it when they married in 1948. Have a nice week, and again, a happy new year!
Dawn

...the ANGEL is a lovely Christmas tradition.
...I don't remember the "Moon Mellon" comic strip.
...cats can often be loners.
...our Christmas decoration s are still up.
Take care and stay healthy and happy in 2022, Jim.

HAPPY NEW YEAR Jim I also had an angle on the top of my tree but now safely away for ANOTHER year. I like the bell decoration. That is a good street shot. Hope you have a great week ahead.

Since we normally (pre-pandemic) spend the winters away I no longer do Christmas decor. No, don't remember that comic strip.

Beautiful Angel. Pretty kitty! Love the painting. Have a wonderful week, Jim.

Love the angel Jim! I think angels at the top of a Christmas tree are lovely. I wanted to pop by to say Carrie Burtt us me too (van horn) I have two Google accounts. Burtt is my old last name. I got a new phone and ended up logged on the other account and just went with it. LOL have a great week my friend.

What a lovely painting you got. Where did you go in Austria? My mother was Austrian.
