~~ Friday’s Hunt v.4.08 -- "H" is for ...

Friday's Hunt for the week of August 25th:
(1) Starts with H; (2) simple (simplify); and (3) Green

(1) Starts with "H": House, Home, Hurricane, Harvey
These pictures below are the positional views, down the street (South), our House, and the view up the street (North). [click on a picture for larger sized viewing]

The front door opening when you knock or ring the bell makes it "Welcome to Our Home."

You might notice that the streets are wet.  I took this earlier today, we are having the fringes of Hurricane Harvey cause showers and mists all day long.

Harvey (or Ex-Harvey as some call it because it is the resurrected hurricane or Hurricane Harvey) began in the Pacific Ocean, crossed over Mexico going East, and then came up to us on the Gulf Coast as a full blown Category 3 Hurricane

It is expected to make landfall around Corpus Christi to the South, then go up into Texas or meander East along the Gulf shores.  Forecasters are saying that it to go East to Louisiana as a tropical storm and then find its way up into Canada.  Lots of water along the way for us here in the Houston, Texas, area.

(2) simple (simplify): This was simmply left in our car for a few hours Wednesday and look what happened.

Think a child could survive?  In the 90's outside but I wonder how hot it got in the car?  What in the world is this?  Highlight the blank space below, in between the parenthesis marks to find the real story.
(Simply peanut butter in a jar melted down?  See the flat place on the right side where it settled, then cooled from our car A/C. )

(3) Green: (John Deere tractors) ??  Calendar trucks/cars ) ??  My old Studebaker ) ??  Not this time, search my blog for those.

How about a Green Dragon?  SIL got this for KP, she is now eight but still has fun with it.  In the bath tube of the bath adjoining my office (a converted extra downstairs bed room.)

Or a nice Green Garden Salad? (Pictured at the top of this blog post)  Mrs. Jim and I made this for lunch today.  It is a Chicken Salad with Lettuce and Veggies.  Really Good!!

...I hope that you don't float away, we have a few extra bedrooms!

Nice selection of the given words ! My grandparents had no bathroom either at least a toilet and I got my bath also in the kitchen, lol !

Oh that salad looks really good. Nothing better than a salad on a hot summer day.

Have a fabulous weekend. ☺

I know it's a bit late, so I hope Harvey's heavy rain has not impacted you We pray for your safety...

I do hope you are staying safe. The damage looks horrible. I will certainly keep you and Texas in my thoughts. Love the green dragon! Very cute. The salad looks like a great healthy lunch. Thank you so much for joining Friday's Hunt. Have a great week!

I hope you are still safe and dry, both you and Mrs. Jim! We have seen a lot of Harvey pictures here and it looks quite dreadful. Your front flower beds look really lovely. We have had quite a bit of rain in the past few weeks (which is good because we had a drought) but it is nothing like what you have had in Houston. Do take care in your local travels and don't drive through deep water!

Are you OK? I heard about the flooding in Katy and thought of you. We did not flood in Clear Lake but the water did come up to my front porch. We drove over to Friendswood yesterday and 2351 at Frankie Carter Park isn't passable. Blackhawk was also flooded and there were abandoned cars. We had to turn around. During the storm Friendswood sent out an E-mail and said the city was completely blocked and ambulances couldn't even get out to a hospital. I hope by now the water has gone down. FM528 was blocked too. Do you remember the nursing home on Quaker at the curve? I believe that's the one where they had to evacuate the residents and take them to Friendswood High School. At one point they were asking for anyone with medical training to come to the school. I still get the E-mail updates from Friendswood from when I lived there. I was able to catch up when the electricity and cable came back. I'm hoping you aren't flooded and have just lost electricity and/or Internet. We got cable back yesterday. Please stay safe and post when you can. Betty
