One: (Feline Friday entry) Little Girl, what's your name?
Really, I don't know if this is a girl or boy cat. It liked me and got up when I climbed the stairs. When I left the cat was waiting for me. I did take its water cup in for a refill because she was about out and the water had some trashy stuff that had blown in.
Two: A lot of progress has been made on what I think will be our new pole dancing studio on Hwy 1097 since we have been gone.I probably should take some lessons when it is finished. They had hoped to open by September 15.
The picture below on the left is how it looked when we left for London. On the left side might go the advanced pole for advanced dancing. Then there can be seven other poles to the right of the tall one so that with using the advanced pole eight poles would be available for group lessons.
There might be an advantage in taking flying trapeze lessons instead. That would be in London again, at Regents Park (see blog below for our boat ride there). But because of my left knee joint replacement I probably shouldn't be doing the trapeze. But most of you readers have both options open for you.
Three: As much as I have been to Regent's Park I have not used the rest rooms. If I had then I would have shown you the inside of one. I imagine they are quite nice.This one is in Regent's Park. There is another gate for the ladies.
Below are a couple of shopping pictures. On the left is High Street for St. Johns Wood where Karen and family live. High Street is similar to the Main Street in the U.S. towns and cities.
On the right is KP playing with the Channel bags. They are nice bags but I have no idea what came in them. I doubt it was cheap.
On the left is a small crowd going to church. This is the All Souls Church (link) in downtown London, at Langham Place and Regents Street, north of Oxford Street. Karen and family attend there. KP is liking the children's church a lot. It has an excellent attendance with the upstairs almost always filled and sometimes there is standing room only. The church is of Anglican Evangelical denominational affiliation.
The picture on the right I took from an upstairs window in Karen and Billy's building. The houses would be leading into Abbey Road. They look small nestled in amongst the apartments but they are actually very large homes. And very expensive, in the millions of British Pounds.
Four: This couple, Matt and Claire Abrey, are driving down Piccadilly Street in London. They may have been returning from the filming in London of an episode for Top Gear. There were £200million of British cars around for this. (link).I could not find much about specific car mentioned. In races the Abreys enter it in the pre-1920 class. (road rally link picture) I was not sure exactly looking to find more.

Five: One of these homes belongs to Paul McCartney. I believe it is the one on the left after being completely remodeled and given a face lift.This video may help you. One hint is the brick pillars, now painted white, used for holding the entrance gate.

Friday’s Hunt v1.8 -- "H" is for ...
Friday's Hunt for the week of February 19th, (1) Starts with H; (2) Week's Favorite; and (3) Family
(1a) Starts with H: Hibiscus -- We never had a hibiscus until we moved here to Katy (Texas) and it was here when we came. This one has several fresh orange flowers every day, just for us as the backyard is enclosed with a board fence. And just about every day we look out the breakfast room window and admire it. Sometimes aloud.
I can tell by this picture that it was taken before being fertilized. Now it is a luscious green and more bushy.

(1b) Starts with H: Hot Dog and Homemade -- This time it's a corn dog with leftover Homemade (Mrs. Jim's) potato salad. I usually put yellow mustard on my leftover potato salad but never on the fresh, first day, treat. I would never want to offend the cook and her/his choice of the way food should be.

(2) Week's Favorite: Thinking of being on Seven Mile Beach at Grand Cayman Island.
(3) Family: Mrs. Jim and I will celebrate, again, our 43rd wedding anniversary next Wednesday, the 24th. I say again because this cruise, on the Princess Caribbean, that we took from January 31 to February 7 was our official celebration. I think we will go out some place to eat but I don't know where yet. MacDonald's?
Some place I have a nice family picture, us, five kids, six grandkids, and two greats. But this one of us at the Seven Mile Beach will have to do.
(4) A lagniappe for you, a Poem for You: "The cows will come" (all is copyright, pictures and all, as on this blog. I previously posted it on my other blog, Jim's Little Photo and Poem Place [link]).

. - The animal pictures were taken at the Vauxhall City Farm, at Vauxhall, Borough of Lambeth, London, U.K. (visit it here). Oh, yes, the top picture is on of the horses coming in from giving rides all day. The cows weren't receptive to picture taking. The resting Ducks were at a canal near Northampton.
. - We took KP to the farm, she loved it. A little scared of the geese, but even some adults are afraid of that. If you visit London with young ones, take them there. Also zoo at Regent's Park is very nice. Admittance is free, both places.

Troll Lives Here
.
Troll Lives Here .............
That's what they said,
and don't dare go near the bridge
guarded by the two white swans.
The big birds are slaves of the troll. They
will drown any trespasser on sight.
Who are we to argue with those lords,
I hear they have guns and WOMDs*.
A troll lives here, stay
far away from his lair we were told.
Now my partner is mighty bold
so she turned our boat the other way,
to where a small white sentry bird
was standing. He clucked
and screamed. We knew these creatures,
simple as they seemed, were not of
the wild but were vassals of the troll.
With no escape in the channels now we looked to the shores of the lagoon. What seemed so safe till
we approached was guarded by still
more serfs. They were of grey and dull nature and half asleep on their spindly legs.
Then for us they too screeched their
message, "not wanted here."
We steered to the other side where by grace of Heavens, there was a place
for us to land our ship. Stranger still,
these contented grey creatures had
another nature. They screeched not of doom and death. Rather they bode,
"Welcome to the Promised Land."
We dropped anchor and lived happily
ever after, reminiscing of Gilligan.

One Sunday while we were in London, August 26 (2013), Mrs. Jim, KP, and I were at Regent's Park (link) again. The 410 acre park is within walking distance of Karen and Billy's flat. It is the home of the London Zoo. For children there are three play grounds and about six places to buy ice cream or gelato.
This time we rented us a paddle boat and explored the limits of the lake and stream that went through, as far as we were allowed. Many times we have come to feed the birds, admire the garden flower settings, or just get our exercise walking.

This and that today -- Things in a Row -- Two Questions --

We went to the park and to swing, do the slides, ride the go-around, and climb the bars. This pretty flower bed was at the entrance to the playground part of the park..
When we came back home the good fairy had lined up all these toys in a row. Sorry I don't have a 'before' picture. Of course our two-and-a-half-year-old loved the order made.

We are visiting our kids and grandkids in London and having a great time!

The next day we visited nearby Regent's Park and coming out had a photo shop in front of these pretty flowers, all in a circular row.

We all had our pictures taken there and this one documents my presence there.

Over the weekend we took the Eurostar across the English Channel over to Paris. Our daughter, Karen, ran the Paris Marathon. (my blog) (Karen's blog).

We stayed near the Eiffel Tower and our hotel was right around the corner of the picture on the right. This is a legitimate because of the second one showing the rows of shops, apartments, and the hotels.
.
We left early Saturday morning and returned late Sunday evening.
.
All went well, Karen finished the run and got her ribbon. Next on her list may be the NYC Marathon. She did that one before in 2003.

My kids and grandkids all got plenty of playing with me as a participant. At early ages it was parks, board games, and sports. As we all aged things pretty well settled down to board games and sports with me as a spectator. Either they were playing or we all went to a game.

With the advent of grandkids I was back to the playgrounds again. Then it progress to day trips to places like libraries or car rides with the top down, stopping for some sort of activity. Of course we stopped to eat.

2. What is the local playground park situation near where you live? I would hope the kids also have a place to run and perhaps feed the ducks or whatever?

Where we live in a retirement community there aren't too many parks. We do have a nice one with picnic tables and playground machines like swings and slides, etc. Walking or cycling on the golf course is frowned on, even in the mornings and evenings before and after golf.

I loved to go for rides with my grandfather in his horse truck. He had a 1940 Ford 3/4 ton truck which he used to take his stud horse to visit the local mares. For a fee of course but I didn't know much about that kind of stuff at the time.

The mailcarriers wear blue hats and shirts.
We went to breakfast on the day of our eating pictures, on our way to visit Regent's Park. Billy and I had an English breakfast of ham, sausage, eggs, and fried potatoes. Mrs. Jim had her an order of pancakes. She and I mixed and matched to make two English breakfasts with a pancake.The playground above which we did not visit is Violet Hill Gardens park (link), part of a neighborhood park near KP's school and home. In the background is Saint Marks Church, a Church of England church.
This one, to the right, is the St. Johns Wood Church Playground off in the other direction and a longer walk. KP loves this big slide. I can remember back when she would only do the little slide and then only slide on her tummy.
