Weekend Roundup -- 09-18 (for letter "I")

Insidious: adjectiveThe 9th issue of Weekend Roundup for this year...
Starts with "I"; A Favorite; and Inside

 (1) Starts with "I": Insidious starts with "I".  We ran into some Insidious pricing at the grocery story this week.  One can of tomato paste is 33 cents or you can purchase three cans for $1.00.

The store will get an extra penny when the customer buys three and the customer is supposed to think he/she is getting a small bargain.  Huh!
  Insidious:  adjective (http://www.dictionary.com/browse/insidious )

1. intended to entrap or beguile:
an insidious plan.
2. stealthily treacherous or deceitful:
an insidious enemy.
3. operating or proceeding in an inconspicuous or seemingly harmless way but actually with grave effect:
an insidious disease.

This is a favorite poem that I wrote back in 2011.  I've posted it twice and referenced it occasionally in my blogs, ( link, also click it above)

(3) Inside: Picture of three generations, our daughter, our granddaughter, and my wife, Mrs. Jim.

Inside the house of course.

Daughter, Karen, has had bunion surgery a couple of weeks ago.  These two, and others, have been doing a good job of keeping Karen cheered up.

(4) Lagniappe: I will post my little extra here by giving reference to the Isetta Car (starts with "I").  It is out of production but was quite popular for a time.  There were a few imported to the U.S. but we didn't make them here.  Read the whole article here:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isetta

I did make a Google Search for a logo of the Isetta. Most seem to be the BMW variety though some collectors have found others. I could not readily find a good one to show except for the BMW so I have decided not to put on here. Here is a link to my search, [click here].

I love your bird poem. Bittersweet.

I love the pricing too. I've caught the same kind of logic more than once.

Have a fabulous day. ☺

yoou wife and rand daughter seem to be making a good job f cheering KAren up. Yes I have seen that trick a good number of times that the shops play and I usually point it out to them and then they are a bit sheepish! Love the poor although it is sad. Have a wonderful weekend

I can't believe that 3/$1.00 pricing. Did you inform the manager? Surely it was an oversight.

Canada discontinued the penny in 2012 so there are rules on rounding. Would be easier just to have stores round off the prices rather than creating complicating software coding to do the rounding.

Reading this I didn't realized rounding didn't apply to credit charges?? How bizarre is that?

...the store must think that the world is filled with stupid people. Jim, you are quite the poet! Oh yes . bunions, something that I may have to get fixed. I remember seeing an Isetta for the first time back in the '50s, I no doubt wouldn't fit in one today. Thanks for stopping by Jim, enjoy your family reunion.

The girls look comfy cozy inside that bedroom! Nice tribute poem for your friend you miss.

The Isetta is a super cute car! I have not seen one before. I would love to drive around in that. I always like the cute little cars. That sneaky grocery store is not pulling the wool over your eyes! I liked your poem although the heron story is sad. Not many herons have the honour of being immortalized in a poem though!
