This is my lucky day! [07-07-07] And time! [07:07 AM]

1. Lucky in love. In fact Mrs. Jim and I could have renewed our wedding vows this morning. At 07:07:07 AM.

This wasn't a picture from today's honeymoon, it was last year's trip to Italy. We are boating just off the coast of the Island of Capri. We do this honeymoon stuff often, remember this year's started in Ireland.
Some might say there isn't any need for a renewal of wedding vows unless there are problems. I compare doing this to maintaining a car. When it gets to be 35 years old a little TLC is in order.
My friend says our preacher should hold a wedding renewal ceremony tonight. It can never hurt, and besides today just might be your luckiest day in the world.
2. Adi, our pet, is a lucky dog. She is a really nice full blooded tri-colored Beagle. You might can tell, I just woke her up from her nap for the photo op. She didn't exactly say Whoopie!

It's not her blood that makes her nice though, it's her training and upbringing. She loves to obey so well that she's never even needed a newspaper spanking! [Just like we treat our kids, everyone gets ice cream rewards!]

3. Even our car is lucky! Lucky to be alive!

.5. I'm lucky to be teaching Sunday school tomorrow. My leg could have been in a cast or an immobilizer for a long while. Guess I'd better stop here and get back to studying and preparing the lesson.

Our lesson is on Haggai, and his book of the Bible. Haggai was an encourager and one of the Old Testament prophets. Our study theme will be commitment (link), the Israelites needed more commitment towards rebuilding their temple for worshiping God in.

History of the Castle
Blarney Castle was originally a timber hunting lodge built in the 10th century, which was replaced by a stone castle in 1210. The present day construction was completed by Dermot McCarthy, King of Munster in 1446. The Castle remained the ancestral stronghold of the McCarthy family until the arrival of Oliver Cromwell with cannon guns in 1646. Fifteen years later with the arrival of King Charles II on the English throne saw the return of the McCarthys to the Castle.Following the Battle of the Boyne in 1690, all Irish chiefs were stripped of their powers and the McCarthys were again forced to leave Blarney Castle. The Castle was sold to Sir James Jefferyes, Governor of Cork in 1703. The Castle is now owned and managed by the Trustees of the Blarney Castle Estate.

Kissing the Blarney stone
The world famous Blarney Stone is situated high up in the battlements of the castle. Follow one of the several long, stone spiral staircases up to the top and enjoy the spectacular views of the lush green Irish countryside, Blarney House and The Village of Blarney.The stone is believed to be half of the Stone of Scone which originally belonged to Scotland. Scottish Kings were crowned over the stone, because it was believed to have special powers.The stone was given to Cormac McCarthy by Robert the Bruce in 1314 in return for his support in the Battle of Bannockburn.Queen Elizabeth I wanted Irish chiefs to agree to occupy their own lands under title from her. Cormac Teige McCarthy, the Lord of Blarney, handled every Royal request with subtle diplomacy, promising loyalty to the Queen without "giving in". Elizabeth proclaimed that McCarthy was giving her "a lot of Blarney", thus giving rise to the legend.You too can acquire the gift of eloquence by kissing the stone!

Blarney House and Gardens
Blarney House is situated 200m South of Blarney Castle and was completed in 1874. The house is open to the public during the Summer months only. It has been completely restored over the past few years. The house is surrounded by extensive lawns, shrubs, trees, and flower beds. These slope gently towards the lake.

I have "Sevens on Sixes," what do you have?
Should I have should said, "I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours?" A 'call' might have been in order?
Now, I'm not much a poker player but I do know this is a pretty good hand. A Royal Flush, a Straight Flush, or a Four of a Kind will beat this Full House, as will a higher card Full House, say 'Kings on Sixes.' [Link to 'Ranking of Poker Hands' site]
Now I've had a lot of fun putting the last 27,000 or so miles on, it had 49,000 plus when I got it back in 2001. For a nine-year old car ['98 model], this isn't too bad.
Since we see that 150, you might ask if it has ever been there or faster. I don't know the answer to that, I don't know how fast the LOL (Little Old Lady) who had it before me made it go.
I do know it gets pretty close to that pretty fast and still wants to go more. There may be an electronic shutdown but if so it must be over the 150 mark.
Can you tell by looking at the speedometer what kind of car it is, without looking back at my blog posts or because you know me and this car?
This car is my retirement present to me from me. Before, I had an old Dodge 600 convertible that needed a lot to keep it presentable.
There were two reasons to get a convertible. First, since I had gotten drafted and had to sell my first convertible, I never got the urge to sun out of my system. I had to sell it because my car payments were more than my Army pay.
Secondly, I have not gotten the motorcycle urge out of my system either. But this convertible is much safer. I call it an old man's four wheel motorcycle. That works for me.
