Letter "E" -- -- Weekend Roundup and Street/Reflections

My cardiac dietitian said I could Eat anything that I wanted in moderation. I have three stents in my left descending arteries, the only heart arteries I have as the right side of my heart did not develop. I also have a stent in my left kidney artery and a stent graft in my abdominal artery aneurysm.

(D) Street/(Reflections): I had thought that this could be an Egret but I found out it is a Black- bellied Whistling duck. I think it is looking for it's Reflection but the water is pretty rough from the fountain for one to be down there.

(1) What would you say that the average lifespan in years runs in your family? "Do you have an expectation?" My father lived to be 97, Mom died at age 89, my average of these two would be at 93. I had expected to be blind by age 85 but I now think that won't happen, possibly older still though.
(2) What is your favorite Word with an "Y"? Mine today will be "either 'You' or 'Yogurt'", I really do like "Yellow", especially on motor vehicles to watch, not to own. But since Tom requested that we use it and that I have used it several times before as my "Y" Word I will skip it for this year. I am not a big Yogurt eater, I'd rather have ice cream, but I do like for You to be reading my blogs. Right now I am running

The Letter "D" ~~ Weekend Roundup and Reflections
(THE FOURTH LETTER FOR THIS SERIES)
- the Letter "D" Prompts are:
(A) Starts with the Letter "D";
(B) "Dark" (Tom's choice);
(C) A Favorite; and
(D) Reflections.

That involved a 30 Day cruise from Dubai over to India and then down to Cape Town, South Africa, aboard the Oceania shop Nautica. We made numerous stops along the way.
I would recommend that this be on everyone's bucket list after when your finished cruising, driving, or flying to the usual places, or most of them.
(A.2) Also starts with the Letter "D": Device also starts with "D". This Device, you may call it an appliance, is my new bridge that I received from my Dentist this morning.
I was fitted with an impression before we left and after my tooth on the right was pulled, this morning it was ready for me to wear. The two teeth on the left I've been missing so now I can chew on both sides.
I can hardly wait to see what the Tooth Fairy brings, money most times.
(B) "Dark" (Tom's choice): it was nearly Dark here on the middle of No Place out on the Indian Ocean. Taken from our balcony, note that we could hide out there from those pilating from the flying bridge.
Although the sun had set, the red remained to make a nice Reflection out in the distant water.
(C) A Favorite: My Dear Wife celebrated her birthday January 1, 2020 at a specialty restaurant on board our ship, the Oceania Nautica. She had a steak, my dish was lobster.
Our table was at the back of the ship by a nice window. Of course it was Dark outside so we didnt see anything out there. We had spent the day out in the rain at the Maldives Islands.

My Two Questions (you can answer just one if you'd like):
1. What all is on your bucket list? As far as traveling, mine is pretty well used up . As far as traveling goes, mine is pretty well used up. Still I wish to travel more. I would like to get my ham radio back on the air.
2. How many of your permanent teeth do you still have ? I think I have seven of them and three wisdom.teeth missing, six are replaced by two bridges. My sister replaced all of hers when she was in her thirties. She is on her third or fourth set now. Search my blog for "Lois".
Bonus Questions:
1. What is your favorite "D" word? This time it will be Day. I always hope for a nice surprise each new Day.
2. Where at have you taken a nice water trip? Next to this backwater trip it probably have been a swamp ride in the Louisiana Achaffel River Basin looking for alligators. Our guide failed with lurring some by tossing marshmallows into the swamp. So the fish had to eat them.

Weekend Roundup -- 08-18(b) (for letter "H")
(4) Pictures on the bottom are for "Reflections"
(1.a) Correction: Last week's lovely Garden Salad was not from a restaurant. Our daughter Karen made it for us. She made it for Granddaughter KP's pool party, four of us with KP swimming. It was for main course with all the pretty vegatables and then burrata cheese for protein and dairy. Summer late afternoon had just set in. Perfect for swimming.
(2) A Favorite: "Handy Man Puppet." This came on the side of a MacDonald's Happy Meal carton. Something for the kids to cut out. I have fun with mine, it stays where I can find it. Can you guess where that is?
Answer: In my Bible . (highlight the empty area)
(3) Horse: This Ceramic Horse and the Bronz Horse originally belonged to my Grandpa H. He had a large collection of figurine and toy horses, somehow my dad obtained these two when my Grandfather had to leave his Home. And now I claim them.
The toy animals I really like are the figures that are made to go along with the toy barns. But I will not pay full price for them, probably spending birthday or Christmas gift money at years end when they are on a really nice sale would be just right. But then what would I do with them? Probably wish I had a barn.

to a country high school for my first two years?
Every morning I was met by two neighbor girls
who rode their horses. Our barn held eight horses.

~~ Friday’s Hunt v.3.19 -- "S" is for ...
Friday's Hunt for the week of May 12: (1) Starts with "S"; (2) Week's Favorite; and (3) Family
(1) Starts with "S": "S" is for surprise, Lily of the Nile flowering. A few weeks ago we planted this clump from our home in Montgomery and were really surprised to get a bloom already this week.
(3) Family: Yesterday was Megan's (link) my oldest granddaughter's, birthday. We celebrated at the Mexican Restaurant near her home.
JP, above with Mrs. Jim, belongs to her. We met my grandson, Tim, a while before our meeting time and played in the local park. 'We' was JP, KP, Tim, Mrs. Jim, and I, who were playing.
JP seemed to be more interested in collecting sticks, rocks, and tree twigs having leaves than he was in playing on the swing. He also likes picnic tables.
Here are a few pictures, starting with some of the wait staff singing Happy Birthday to Megan.
(3) Window: This picture below is of a row of mostly Hotels in Honfleur, France (link). Last week I had said that I would tell more about our visit to this place next week, as it would be my "S" Word Story of the Week.
Here is my surprising story:
As we were approaching the 'restaurant row' next to the water I spotted a French couple at one of the tables where the man was holding a dog.
Usually the dog has its leash wrapped around a chair leg and it just minds its own business. Not in the man's lap. So I told Mrs. Jim that I wanted a picture of this scene and its anomaly.
She said that I had better ask in French so as to warm up to the couple.
Mrs. Jim knows French and quickly taught me to say, "Je peux prendre une photo de vous et de votre chien?"
Surprise, surprise; the man chuckled a little bit and asked me in English where I was from. When I told him "Montgomery, Texas," he told me in turn that he also was from Montgomery.
At first I thought that he was kidding me. But he and his wife really were, they lived across the lake, about a mile away from us. He worked a the U.S. Customs Office there in Honfleur. I saw the wife later at our physical therapy rehab therapy place in Montgomery. We talked some although I doubt I would recognize either of them now.
